Description
X-Kote is a permanent coating applied to your vehicle. This coating provides your factory finish with a brand new clear coat, restoring it's original shine and filling in deep scratches permanently. Unlike waxing and polishing X-Kote will not wear off. Therefore the scratches and swirls will stay away permanently, as will the brilliant new shine.
In 2004, after many years of research, development and extensive testing, X-kote Paint Renewal Systems was introduced to the world, the very first hand applied Polyurethane clear coat. Yes, an actual Automotive/Marine clear coat that is applied by hand. X-kote is similar in nature and chemistry to today’s clear coats that are sprayed on. But the key to this unique system is not only X-kote's ability to level completely flat when applied, but its resilient chemical adhesion process. X-Kote will not de-laminate or peel off and it is 100% consistent, meaning there are no weak points such as around key cylinders, door handles or panel edges.
The end result looks, feels, and is as permanent as the factory coating.

Automotive Paint
Today’s automotive paints are typically a 2 stage paint; a base coat, which has the color and the metallic flake in it, and a clear coat on top. The clear coat is like a lens and creates the perception of depth. When that clear coat is dulled or swirled, not only do you lose the shine, but the paint's depth as well. X-kote brings the clear coat back to a brilliant shine, and leaves absolutely zero swirls, so the clarity and depth of the paint is maximized.
If your car or truck has had body work done, you may find that the new paint does not match the original. That is because the clear coat on the original paint is worn, scratched and thin. This effectively changes the appearance of the color, and the new paint with it's new clear coat looks deeper, shiny and a different color. By applying X-Kote to the rest of the vehicle the entire vehicle will match and look brand new.
Gel Coat
Gel coats and single stage paints, without a clear coat, lack the depth of a 2 stage (base coat/clear coat) paint. When X-kote'd, they have an incredible deep wet look. X-kote also gives single stage paints and gel coats the UV protection they lack. UV damage is the primary cause of fading and oxidization.

The Process
- Wash and prep the vehicle
- Remove all contamination including road grime, tar, sap and any other impurities on the finish
- Clay bar the entire vehicle
- Wet sand any heavily damaged areas
- Cut polish the entire finish
- Degrease and wash one more time
- Hand and Air Dry
- Mask off any components close to the vehicle's finish
- Apply the X-kote Paint Restoration Coating and allow to cure over night
- Polish, wax and seal the X-Kote Finish

The before shot shows this Corvette's hood has seen better days. Swirl marks and scratches everywhere. After applying X-Kote, the marks are gone and the hood is a true shiny black again.

Before this Stingray was treated with X-Kote, the finish was lack-lustre and dull. Once applied, the Stingray's true color's shone through, giving it a much needed lift.
Boats, RV's & Airplanes
Boats, RV's and Airplanes are commonly painted with gelcoat or a single stage paint without a clearcoat. These paints have very little UV protection, and as a result, they tend to oxidize and fade very quickly. Until now, the only answer was to continually buff the surface, which is very temporary. X-kote not only renews the finish, it also gives it far superior UV protection to stop it from oxidizing and fading. Many comment the shine and finish is better than new.
Because X-kote is an actual clearcoat, it will last for many years, unlike a wax, polish or sealant that will soon wash or wear off.

In today's green conscious world, X-kote is an incredibly efficient and green alternative to re-spraying. As X-kote is hand applied and not sprayed, coverage is maximized and wastage is greatly minimized. An entire panel such as a bumper, can be completely covered with less than an ounce of X-kote. This is a small fraction of the amount of clearcoat you would need to spray that same panel, resulting in far less harmful greenhouse causing V.O.C.'s being emitted into the atmosphere.
