Introducing:
Oversize Vehicle Category
We are making some pricing changes at Splashes, and wanted to give you a heads up.
We have always and will always strive to provide the best value for your money in the car care business. These changes will allow us to continue to keep our prices fair, while paying our employees fair wages.
The following changes will be in effect July 2nd, 2020.
What Are The Price Changes?
The new Oversize vehicle category will be charged the following for services by our Detail Shop:
- Hand Wash: $55
- Mini Detail: $95
- Interior Detail w/ Shampoo: $275
- Exterior Detail: $275
- Platinum Complete: $465
Our Detail Shop will also receive a blanket $5 increase to all pre-existing prices, including hand washes.
We will also be introducing a standard Dog Hair Charge of $20 for interior detailing work. This is a minimum charge we will apply for an amount of dog hair that requires additional vacuum time, and the charge may be increased if there is significantly more dog hair (e.g. multiple long-haired dogs).
How Do I Know If My Vehicle Is Oversize?
Your vehicle is in the Oversize category if it is a:
- Minivan
- Large SUV
- Longer than 5m (16' 5") or
- Having a fixed 3rd row of seating
- Over 1/2 ton Pickup truck
- e.g. F250, Silverado 3500, RAM Power Wagon
- 'Lifted' SUV / Truck
Examples of Oversize Vehicles
Ford Expedition
Honda Odyssey
RAM 3500
Why The Change?
Not all SUVs and Trucks are the same
Until now, a Honda Odyssey, Toyota RAV4, Ford Transit, BMW X3, and Silverado 3500 Extended Cab + Extended Box would all be charged the same price. Clearly some of these vehicles are not like the others, and often times we have found ourselves spending up to and over an hour longer to detail a truck such as a RAM 3500 Power Wagon, compared to a crossover such as a Honda CRV.
Minivans are tough to clean!
We are introducing the new Oversize bracket to ensure that we give these larger vehicles the extra attention they require. Minivans have a ton of internal compartments and an extra set of seats to deal with compared to SUVs.
Lifted trucks require extra time and attention
Large trucks and even lifted SUVs can DOUBLE the time it takes us to do a hand wash, due the extra care required to reach the tops of these vehicles. Our employees often require ladders to fully hand wash these vehicles, which introduces safety hazards that our employees must work around. Additionally, the wheel/suspension areas of lifted vehicles tend to be much dirtier, requiring more time to clean as well.
But What About My (Insert Vehicle Here)?
If you're wondering what category your vehicle falls into, don't hesitate to ask us!
As always, all of our prices are subject to change upon inspection, and we will always help you find the best value for your vehicle. Modern vehicles have become very hard to classify, and sometimes it's just best to bring us your ride, and we'll recommend the best options for you.
As always, we thank you for supporting our small business, and appreciate your understanding as we grow and change. See you for your next wash!
