What is ADAS?

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is a catch-all term for all the systems in your modern car that keep you safe. This includes:
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Forward Automatic Emergency Braking (FAEB)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
If you recognize any of these terms and acronyms, your vehicle has ADAS! Since 2009, an increasing number of vehicles are coming equipped with the system. ADAS is also the basis of the system that allows self-driving cars to operate.
ADAS Requires Calibration To Keep You Safe
It is necessary to calibrate your ADAS whenever your windshield is replaced. Without calibration, your ADAS system may not be able to properly detect the road conditions ahead, and may lead to undetected dangers, false collision warnings, and other not-so-safe circumstances.
A Calibrated ADAS camera will properly detect the road conditions ahead, and allow your car's systems to keep you safe. When you get your windshield replaced at Splashes, we will ensure your ADAS camera is supplying accurate information to your Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, and other systems your vehicle uses to keep you safe.
