July 2021 Community Wash Partner - UNITI4ALL (Semiahmoo House Society)
The Three Global Ends Policies
These three policies describe the positive difference in the world that UNITI strives to make
People are valued members of society
People decide how they live their lives and make informed choices
The rights of people are protected
UNITI promotes inclusion and creates models that will influence societal change!
What is UNITI?
UNITI is a partnership of three affiliated non-profit organizations in our community; the three organizations being Semiahmoo House Society, Peninsula Estates Housing Society, and The Semiahmoo Foundation. These three pillars of UNITI work in unison to push for inclusion and societal change, in order to create a real difference in the lives of everyone in our community.
- Semiahmoo House Society provides quality services and support to people with disabilities and their families in Surrey and White Rock
- Peninsula Estates Housing Society provides affordable and inclusive housing that reflects the diversity of our community
- The Semiahmoo Foundation assures that UNITI has the recognition, relationships, and resources to support an inclusive community.
Their current project, Harmony, is the development of a 91 home, 6-story affordable rental apartment building in South Surrey. The development will be affordable and inclusive housing for the life of the building, and is for essential workers, seniors, families, people with disabilities, students, and other people who are being priced out of our community.
When we work together, we call ourselves UNITI
UNITI is about promoting inclusion and creating models that can influence societal change.
Together we’re stronger internally, in our community and internationally.
We had the opportunity to visit Semiahmoo House Society to speak with Jillian and Manjeet about the programs that SHS runs through the year. They mentioned that our contributions would be towards further development of their Mental Services & Wellness programs – more specifically, the employment of 4-5 employment specialists to aid in job placements for their members.
The Semiahmoo House Society Mental Health and Wellness Services are an unfunded service which rely on community support and grants. More information on Semiahmoo House Society below.
It's The Perfect Time For A Wash
It’s the middle of Summer, and what better time than now to come to Splashes for a wash? Last month we managed to donate $2,221 to Edgewood Elementary for the development of a new playground for their students, and we officially passed a major milestone since starting our CWP program last year – We have officially passed $20,000 in total donations – and we couldn’t have reached this milestone without the help of our incredible customers!
Stay tuned for more updates on our Community Wash Partner Program!
