JULY 2022 Community Wash Partner
For this month, we are going to support an organization that is really needing help from our community. South Surrey & White Rock Meals on Wheels is a volunteer-driven organization that provides warm meals at low-cost – mostly to seniors who need help with nutrition. They serve the Semiahmoo Peninsula area south of 40th Avenue and West of 188th Street – White Rock, South Surrey, Ocean Park, and Crescent Beach.
The rising rate of inflation has been very harsh on the organization, which has been forced to stop paying volunteers a gas allowance now as fuel prices have reached record highs, making people less inclined to volunteer as well.
