To make a positive impact this season, we're donating $1 from every Deluxe Car Wash to the South Surrey & White Rock Food Bank, operated by Sources. This organization plays a vital role in supporting our community by providing much-needed food assistance to individuals and families.
The Importance of Supporting the Food Bank
The South Surrey & White Rock Food Bank recorded over 42,000 visits last year!
- Among those served, 38% are children, which is 5% higher than the national average.
- Additionally, 8.4% of the individuals they assist are seniors, slightly above the national average of 8%.
As the cost of living continues to rise, it is becoming increasingly challenging for many low to moderate-income earners to manage expenses. Notably, 17% of food bank users are working families, marking a significant change in the demographics of those seeking assistance. In British Columbia, food inflation for grocery items has reached 11.3%.
