We hope you had a fantastic holiday season and that your 2021 is starting off on the right foot! Our Community Wash Partner program is back, with our January partner being : Meals on Wheels – White Rock & South Surrey
About Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a volunteer-run, community service in White Rock & South Surrey that prepares hot and nutritious meals at an affordable cost to those who are unable to prepare meals on their own. Their meals are priced at $7.75, and created on a rotating menu (adherent to special diets for those who need it.
Many of the clients for Meals On Wheels are seniors and those with disabilities who are unable to prepare meals on their own. Each meal prepared is supervised by a certified dietician, so that each meal is made to focus on the dietary well being of their clients.
How Will Our Donations Help?
While these meals are financed in part by the client payments for the meals, which are subsidized by annual grants from the Fraser Health Authority, donations and fundraising initiatives like these make up the remaining amount.
The services from Meals On Wheels allows for many members in our community to continue living happily and independently in their own homes, while providing peace of mind to their loved ones.
Community Wash Partner Program
For those of you new to our blog, our Community Wash Partner program is an initiative that we started last year, as a way of giving back to our community.
We tally up our total sales for our Deluxe Wash, and donate $1 for each one sold to a charitable cause in our community.
Last month we held a toy drive to gather toys for families in our area in need. We worked with MamasForMamas, who helped in distributing the toys by working with local schools, social workers, and BC Children’s Hospital. As a result, we were able to fill up an entire delivery van worth of toys to be donated!
