It's Back-To-School Season! 📚💡⁠

For the month of September, we are partnering with the incredible team at Mamas For Mamas to raise funds and collect donations for children's school supplies!⁠

We've had the opportunity of working with Mamas For Mamas on several occasions, including our Mamas For Mamas x Splashes Toy Drive and their Back-To-School drive last year! They are an amazing organization doing incredible things within our community.

As a national charitable organization with several chapters across Canada including Vancouver, Kelowna, Grande Prairie, Calgary, and Kitchener/Waterloo – Mamas for Mamas provides support to mothers and caregivers in crisis. They welcome caregivers of any gender identity or expression, including men, trans*, non=binary, and two-spirit clients. They operate with the mission to change the landscape of poverty through innovative approaches to financial barriers faced by struggling families. ⁠

At Mamas for Mamas, a space is provided for mothers, caregivers, and their kids to feel safe and comfortable when they come in for poverty relief support. Their Karma Market program allows clients to come and access anything they may need at no cost. Items ranging from clothing, to shoes and seasonal wear, to formula, diapers, and more - can be found in their free store. Mamas for Mamas is there for the parents who need help navigating eligible resources, applying for social supports, and getting direct intake support. ⁠

We've had the pleasure of working with the Mamas For Mamas organization a few times now, having worked with them for our XMAS Toy Drive as well as the Back-To-School drive last August. ⁠

We will also be collecting Back-To-School items for Mamas for Mamas to distribute to local families in our community. These items can be dropped off during regular business hours, and include items such as:⁠

• Backpacks 🎒⁠
• Pens/Pencils 🖊️⁠
• Binders/Organizers 📁⁠
• Locks🔒⁠
• New/unused make-up 💄⁠
• Feminine Hygiene Products ♀️⁠
• Gift Cards (Fast Food, Transit Passes, Grocery Store cards are some examples) 💳⁠
